Product Description

The STAR*NET Standard Edition is a easy-to-use 32-bit Windows package that adjusts 2D/3D survey networks using rigorous Least Squares techniques. It handles networks containing conventional observations with up to 10,000 adjustable stations. Differential leveling observations can also be included within a 3D adjustment. Whether a survey consists of a single-loop traverse or a complex network of interconnecting traverses, all observations are adjusted simultaneously to produce a single best-fit solution. STAR*NET can reduce observations to NAD27, NAD83 or UTM with separate grid factors calculated for all distances and t-T corrections calculated for all angles. Custom Transverse Mercator and Lambert grids may be defined for special local requirements or for grid systems in most areas of the world. Angular measurements are supported in both Deg-Min-Sec and GONS. Observations may be independently weighted with corrections included for curvature, refraction, EDM ppm and both horizontal and vertical centering errors. STAR*NET includes a user-defined instrument library which allows for variable weighting of multiple instrument, multiple crew projects with little effort.

Program functions are selected from drop-down menus and all data entry, editing, running adjustments and viewing reports can be done without ever leaving the program. STAR*NET will produce an graphical display of your entire survey network overlaid with computed error ellipses (confidence regions) for each point, so that any weakness in the network can be easily seen graphically. The user can also query for adjusted point and line information directly from the plot by simply double-clicking any point or connection. Final results can be sent off to AutoCAD and popular COGO programs.

Other STAR*NET features include listing of traditional traverse and angular closure errors, easy-to-understand adjustment statistics, a preanalysis routine (for planning), a blunder detect function, and a survey feature that allows any number of sideshots to be automatically attached to the network and computed after an adjustment has been performed. A special reporting option is included to check network surveys for positional tolerance compliance now required by some organizations such as the ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys committee.
